Event Navigation
There is little understanding, however, of the economic impacts of domestic violence, and particularly in the corporate sector. An even more significant gap in the literature is the identification of an effective business model to address DV.
Based on research in Latin America, Dr. Vara-Horna will discuss the financial consequences of DV for the corporate sector. Additionally, he will discuss the appropriate responses by businesses to address domestic violence and the efficacy of such responses. Drawing on evaluation research conducted over three years of a business model to prevent domestic violence in Bolivia, he will discuss the implications for spill over effects for businesses integrating a deliberate prevention model into business operations.
This is one of a series of seminars in the Whitaker Ideas Forum. Aristides will be representing the Gender and Public Policy research cluster.
The Whitaker Ideas Forum is a weekly seminar, running Wednesday’s throughout the semester from 1:00pm-2:00pm in CA110. It provides the opportunity for members of the Institute to showcase their research. The result are presentations that highlight the diversity of the research being undertaken, while allowing for an opportunity to engage in discussions and, sometimes, collaboration with attendees. Below, you will find a list of this semester’s seminars, please click the title for more information on that seminar.
