The project will build an international academic network on political violence, contribute to the development of the research agenda for the field and establish the foundations for a research consortium that can bid for Horizon 2020 funding on this topic.
This project will work with the ECPR Standing Group on Political Violence to strengthen collaborative networks and identify key topics in a new agenda for political violence research, contributing to the development of a unified field for the study of political violence that synthesizes existing work on revolutions, civil wars, insurgency, terrorism, and other forms of political violence.
The project will also build on the results of the IRC project on the settlement of conflict in Bosnia and Northern Ireland in which Dr Ó Dochartaigh was an associate investigator, gathering final additional data and disseminating the project results through publication.
