Professor Paul Portney visits the Whitaker Institute

Paul Portney, Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Arizona, spoke at the Whitaker Institute earlier this week.  Prof. Portney received a great reception for his seminar on the use of the contingent valuation method for natural resource damage assessment, a method that has been under scrutiny ever since its high profile use in the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1985.
