In Their Words

As part of the hospitality research project undertaken by Whitaker Institute member Dr Deirdre Curran, participants were invited to submit an audio file answering 3 questions:

1. What do you like most about working in hospitality?
2. What do you like least about working in hospitality?
3. Tell me about an incident where you felt unfairly/badly treated:
   1. What happened?
   2. What action did you take?
   3. What was the outcome?
   4. How did it make you feel?

20 participants submitted audio files.

This turned out to be a powerful method because the voice of the participant was captured along with the emotion in their testimony.

With the permission of three of these participants Dr Curran captured their voice in short video clips.

They are not identified, nor is their employer, but it is THEIR voice and their experiences.
