The Whitaker supports a twice-yearly writing retreat, led by Dr Rachel Hilliard. The retreat is of benefit for any staff looking for some dedicated writing time to advance a piece of work for publication, with the advantage of a supportive atmosphere, introduction to effective writing strategies, and good company.

The upcoming retreat will be held in the Connemara Coast Hotel from 9.30am Wednesday 30 November to 4pm Friday 2 December. Staff members have the option to attend as a day participant (free of charge) or to make the retreat residential (€85/night). Email Rachel (rachel.hilliard@nuigalway.ie) to discuss the details or to book a place. There is also a retreat planned for 4-6 April, 2017.
