Dr Mc Carthy’s presentation will provide a contextual overview of the issues associated with ageing and age diversity in the workforce, with a particular emphasis on the Irish situation, along with discussion of current empirical findings from the following Age in the Workplace Research Network (AWR-net) projects:

i. When I’m 64? Exploring who is considered an ‘older worker’.
ii. A grey area: Organisational decision-maker attitudes toward older workers in Ireland.
iii. Beyond generational differences? Exploring individual influences on inter-generational work attitudes.
iv. Work and family issues in a multi-generational context.
v. High performance work systems and employee outcomes: The moderating effect of age.
