The Whitaker supports a twice-yearly writing retreat, led by Dr Rachel Hilliard. The retreat is of benefit for any staff looking for some dedicated writing time to advance a piece of work for publication or funding, with the advantage of a supportive atmosphere, introduction to effective writing strategies, and good company.

The next retreat will be held in the Connemara Coast Hotel from 9.30am Tuesday 19 April to 4pm Thursday 21 April. Staff members have the option to attend as a day participant (free of charge) or to make the retreat residential (€85/night).
