Event Navigation

The ‘D1 Now’ intervention aims to improve outcomes among young adults (18-25 years) living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The intervention has been developed under guidance of the Medical Research Council (MRC) framework for the development of complex interventions and the Behaviour Change Wheel (BCW). Public and patient involvement is an integral part of the D1 Now project. A PPI panel of young adults living with type 1 diabetes (the Young Adult Panel – YAP) was formed over 5 years ago and currently consists of 10 members in Galway and Dublin. The YAP act as co-researchers throughout each stage of the research cycle. This talk will outline the impact the YAP has had on the development and dissemination of the D1 Now project to date.

This is one of a series of seminars in the Whitaker Ideas Forum. Eimear and Bláthín will be representing the Health and Well-Being cluster.

The Whitaker Ideas Forum is a weekly seminar, running Wednesday’s throughout the semester from 1:00pm-2:00pm in CA110. It provides the opportunity for members of the Institute to showcase their research. The result are presentations that highlight the diversity of the research being undertaken, while allowing for an opportunity to engage in discussions and, sometimes, collaboration with attendees. Below, you will find a list of this semester’s seminars, please click the title for more information on that seminar.
