Event Navigation

This workshop will focus on how to talk about your research in non-academic settings and how to pitch your work to the media. We have four speakers lined up to talk about language, press releases and pitching your work to the media or online. You’ll get concrete examples, and an opportunity to ask questions.  Learning how to talk about your research in a clear, concise manner will also help you prepare for interviews, write funding proposals, and help increase impact.

Elaine Byrnes talked about how she speaks about her research in the media.

Mary McGill discussed how to engage with the media and get your work noticed.

John Caufield spoke about how to write a press release and the importance of a strong publicity photo.
Eilís Ní Dhúill talked about the Thesis Talk blog – an opportunity to share your expereinces and practice your writing.

We’ll start the morning with some tea and coffee at 10am

Numbers are limited so please sign up early if you wish to attend
