Synthesising Qualitative Research Results Using Meta-Ethnography

Guest Facilitator: Professor Nicky Britten, Universities of Exeter & Plymouth

Time / Date / Venue: 9am-12noon, Friday 4 May 2012, Aras Moyola room MY125

Nicky Britten will facilitate a workshop on the use of meta-ethnography for synthesising the results of qualitative research. This will involve a presentation outlining the basic steps involved, with examples of completed syntheses. The workshop will also consist of group work to identify and translate key concepts in published qualitative papers. This translation constitutes the core element of doing a meta-ethnography. Participants will gain most from the workshop by reading in advance the four papers to be synthesized*.
