Event Navigation

This one-day workshop is aimed doctoral students from any discipline.

The objective of the workshop is to define your scientific mission, to develop a research impact, strategic networking and funding strategy using a Scientific Journey Impact Canvas. This workshop is designed to be interactive and will consist of individual and group exercises that will enable you to reflect and to develop clear understanding of how to position your research for impact.

The design of this workshop is informed by research that has been undertaken by members of the TOPIK research consortium on principal investigators. Some of their findings highlights that successful scientists have a clear vision of their scientific contribution over their lifetime, take a proactive strategic posture to shape new scientific trajectories, are highly focused on a range of funding instruments to support the realization of that vision and are motivated by the priorisation of new knowledge.

The workshop will lead by Dr. James Cunningham, Director of the Whitaker Institute and is supported by REAP National Network for Enterprise Engagement.  Each participate will receive a free e-book and other support material.
