Lean Introduction Training – 2-Day Training Workshop

The workshop will discuss the fundamental concepts of taking a Lean approach, including the 5 Lean Principles of Value, Value Streams, Flow, Pull and Perfection; and the ‘7 Wastes’ that exist in all business environments. It will also examine the framework of Value Stream Mapping and how to create a roadmap for improvement between the current and future states. Simulation exercises will be incorporated so that participants gain experience putting the concepts into practice.
Learning objectives include:

• Identify the 5 Lean Principles and 7 Wastes
• Understand the Continuous Improvement Framework
• Identify current value streams and desired future states
• Determine ways to eliminate the gaps between your current and future state
• Understand how to apply Lean thinking to information systems and software development environments

Lean Business Systems, the company who will provide this training, was founded in Limerick in 2002 to assist Irish industry in adopting a Lean Business approach. They use a coaching based, hands–on consulting approach to instill a culture of Continuous Improvement for their clients who range from small, Irish owned indigenous companies to Fortune 500 companies. Examples of their clients include IBM Mulhuddart Dublin, HSE Galway, Leo Pharma, Modular Automation and Pallas Foods.
