Undertaking international and comparative research can be both rewarding and challenging. Funding agencies internationally are moving towards funding multidisciplinary research teams conducting research across many countries that have scientific, policy and practice outcomes. This seminar will focus on the challenges of undertaking international and comparative research and the different ways of conducting such research with multiple research partners and collaborators and how best to achieve research outputs in high ranked journals

Biography
Chris Brewster is Professor of International Human Resource Management at the Henley Business School, University of Reading, in the UK. He had substantial experience as a practitioner and gained his doctorate from the London School of Economics before becoming an academic. He researches in the field of international and comparative HRM; and has published over twenty books and more than a hundred articles. In 2002 he was awarded the Georges Petipas prize by the practitioner body, the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations, in recognition of his work on IHRM. In 2005, a University of Chicago survey found he was one of the most published authors in the international business journals. In 2006 Chris was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Vaasa, Finland. Chris devotes his time to research and teaching. He is currently involved in three major research programmes on aspects of comparative or international HRM; and is a visiting professor at Universities in four continents.
