Dr. Chris van Egeraat studied Development Geography at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. For his master’s thesis he studied the production linkages of MNEs in the Singapore-Malaysia cross border production complex. For his doctoral thesis at Dublin City University Business School, he studied the production linkages in the microcomputer hardware industry in Ireland and Scotland. Van Egeraat received a Cum Laude distinction for his Master’s degree and won academic research scholarships in The Netherlands and Ireland, including the IRCHSS post-graduate research scholarship. Chris van Egeraat has been employed as a research officer at the ESRI, the former Centre for Local and Regional Development in Maynooth and the DCU Business School. Van Egeraat has published on topics like clusters, agglomeration and the geographical configuration of production in general. Present research interests include Ireland’s changing role in the global pharmaceutical industry.
