Event Navigation

Researchers around the world have responded to the crisis of COVID-19 in diverse, thoughtful and creative ways – from adapting data collection methods to fostering researcher and community resilience, while also attending to often urgent needs for care. With the continuing presence of COVID-19 affecting the way research is conducted, researchers have also begun to reflect more deeply on fundamental research issues and assumptions. As researchers continue to adapt, conduct and plan and design their research in the continuing presence of COVID-19, new opportunities to connect research creativity and ethics have opened up.

In this session, Helen Kara and Su-ming Khoo discuss their 3 rapid e-books: Researching in an Age of Covid-19 (Policy Press, October 2020), exploring themes of  i) Response and Reassessment, ii) Care and Resilience and iii) Creativity and Ethics in doing research. They will share their lessons learned about this rapid-response project and discuss aspects of engagement and ‘openness’ in research, writing and collaborative editing. Participants are warmly invited to contribute their reflections on researcher-participant relationships and to share experiences of ethics and care in research.
