Event Navigation

Leadership development too often attempts to apply 20th century leadership to 21st century challenges. Globalisation, new technologies, environmental challenges, and a recent financial crisis reflect the inter-dependencies of our network society. Organisations can no longer be conceived as fixed entities, as closed systems, as ‘machines manufacturing profits’. 21st century organisations are ‘eco-systems within eco-systems’, connected, vulnerable and fluid entities; and they demand new forms of leadership. This seminar gives an overview of leadership in the past century, before offering a networked coaching process to help develop ‘new leaders for new times’. It draws on Simon’s wealth of practical experience as a consultant, and his two recent books, including “Coaching and Mentoring: a critical text” (Sage 2012).
