‘Big Data MBA:  How To Drive Data Monetization’ Bill Schmarzo, CTO, Dell EMC Services

Bill Schmarzo, author of “Big Data: Understanding How Data Powers Big Business” and “Big Data MBA: Driving Business Strategies with Data Science”, is responsible for setting strategy and defining the Big Data service offerings for Dell EMC’s Big Data Practice. As a CTO within Dell EMC’s 2,000+ person consulting organization, he works with organizations to identify where and how to start their big data journeys. He is a University of San Francisco School of Management Executive Fellow where he teaches the “Big Data MBA” course. Bill has over three decades of experience in data warehousing, BI and analytics.

 

From Big Data to Business Value:  The importance of Big Data Analytics Capabilities

Patrick Mikalef is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral research fellow at the department of Computer Science of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He currently works on the research project, “Competitive Advantage for the Data-driven Enterprise”, that seeks to understand how firms leverage the power of big data in their competitive strategies. He works with private and public organizations to identify key success and failure factors, as well as best-practice implementation strategies. Patrick serves as the chair of the Big Data Analytics tracks for the European and Americas Conference on Information Systems (ECIS & AMCIS) and is the guest editor of special issues in highly ranked journals.
