What does it take to get published in good refereed journals? Or in the very top ones? What strategies should we adopt to improving our publications record? Which journals should we submit our work to? How should we write our submissions? How should we present them? How should we deal with reviewers? In short, what can we do to improve our chances of our papers being published?
If you want to get published, if you want to improve your publications record, if you want to know what to do next with your paper or to clarify your publication strategy in our own mind, this session will help.
Professor Chris Brewster has published more than 150 articles, at all levels of refereed journals and will address these questions for us. Chris argues that it is not the cleverest people, or the best connected people, or the best research that gets published. What matters is understanding the craft of writing and applying the appropriate techniques. He will help you to do this. He will provide hand-outs and advice and run an interactive session responding to your questions and issues.
The session will not guarantee that you get published: but it will help.
One to One Sessions: Professor Brewster can also meet you on a one to one basis to discuss your publication strategy, journal papers and other issues related to getting published.
To avail of these one to one sessions please contact Gwen Ryan: gwen.ryan@nuigalway.ie before the 28th February.
