Writers Retreat

Do you find it hard to protect time for writing? Do you have a piece of writing that you are trying to get finished (or started)?

The Whitaker supports a twice-yearly writing retreat, led by Dr Rachel Hilliard. The retreat is of benefit for any staff looking for some dedicated writing time to advance a piece of work for publication, with the advantage of a supportive atmosphere, introduction to effective writing strategies, and good company. It’s the opportunity to preserve writing time and make substantial progress on a piece of writing.

The next retreat will be held in the Connemara Coast Hotel from 10am Tuesday 9 April to 4pm Thursday 11 April. Staff members have the option to attend as a day participant (free of charge) or to make the retreat residential (€85/night).
