Whistleblowing: Symposium and Research Paper Development Workshop
April 12, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Organised by: Whitaker Institute for Innovation and Societal Change, NUI Galway
Event Navigation
We invite you to Galway to take part in a paper development workshop, symposium and networking forum on the topic of whistleblowing in organisations. The event is aimed at researchers currently working on issues including but not limited to theories of whistleblowing, ethics and politics of whistleblowing, transparency and speak-up systems.
The day will consist of a symposium on teaching whistleblowing and related topics in business school settings. After this, paper development roundtable sessions will be hosted by senior academics who will provide developmental feedback to attendees on works-in-progress, alongside feedback from peers.
If you would like to attend, please submit an abstract in advance and be ready to send in a full paper in early March (see below).
To attend:
Register and email your paper abstract (max. 300 words) to Muhammad Irfan (m.irfan2@nuigalway.ie). Please forward your full paper (max 7000 words) by 28th March 2019. The aim is for participants to gain direct ideas and feedback which will benefit their ongoing work. Therefore the paper to be submitted need not be in an advanced state of development— participants simply provide a document that will offer your mentors the best opportunity to provide constructive feedback to you. As part of your submission please indicate if you have a specific “ask” from your mentors and peers (e.g. other ideas for a theoretical base, struggling with methods, finding things I was not expected to find, etc.) or if you would just like general feedback.
