Study explores the culture of prescribing antibiotics for UTIs and consumption in the community
Members of the Social Innovation and Policy cluster were involved in a study to explore the culture of antibiotic prescribing and consumption in the community for Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), from the perspective of General Practitioners and community members. Qualitative research can play a critical and instrumental role in designing behavioural change, and the results of this research were used to design a complex intervention informed by social marketing. The results of the study were published in the BMJ Open. Read the Galway Advertiser’s story about this study here.
