Writing for Peer reviewed Publications: Strategies for getting published

A workshop with Professor Pat Thomson

In this seminar Prof Pat Thomson will look at strategies for publishing in high-ranking journals. By the end of the workshop you should have a clear sense of how to target your work effectively at highly-ranked peer reviewed journals, and a plan for your next paper.   The workshop will look at identifying the right journal for your work by showing how to decode journals and then position yourself confidently in the journal discourse. Pat will introduce a four-move framework for abstract development. It ensures that your paper has a clear and defined focus. This simple tool will allow you to articulate your contribution with clarity and authority. You should leave with a road map for the paper development.

About the presenter

Prof Pat Thomson is Professor of Education at the University of Nottingham. She works extensively in researcher education and researches and writes about the writing that scholars want to, and must, do. She has written on academic writing for peer-reviewed publications, for doctoral students and for supervisors of doctoral students.
