Women entrepreneurs and their successful ventures will be examined in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Japan, South Korea, China, Morocco, and Turkey by the Fulbright-Hall Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship for Central Europe, Dr. Dianne Welsh. The 5 M Framework (Brush, deBruin, & Welter, 2009 and the Knowledge, Family Support and External Support by Chang et al. (2009) is used to explain the results. This is the initial report from our comparative study around the world. Implications, limitations, lessons learned, and future studies will be discussed.

About the speaker:

Dianne H.B. Welsh is the Hayes Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and Founding Director of the Entrepreneurship Programs at The University of North Carolina Greensboro. She is the 2015 Fulbright-Hall Distinguished Chair for Entrepreneurship for Central Europe. Dianne is a recognized scholar in family business, international entrepreneurship, women-owned businesses, and franchising and has seven books and over 150 publications. Her newest books are Creative Cross-Disciplinary Entrepreneurship, published by Palgrave-Macmillan, and the 2^nd edition of Global Entrepreneurship and Case Studies in Global Entrepreneurship.
