On Thursday 11 November, the Whitaker Institute was delighted to host Would you trust a robot more than your doctor? Trust and technology terrorism in medicine by Dr Jane Walsh, co-leader of the Health and Well-Being Cluster. This talk explored recent technological innovations in healthcare and why sometimes they don’t work as expected. The psychological science that underpins these successes and failures in ‘real-life’ was explored, including examples of the importance of stakeholder involvement in design and implementation of new technologies.
