Professor Luiz Moutinho completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield and has held posts at University of Wales College of Cardiff; Cleveland State University, Ohio, USA; Northern Arizona University, USA and California State University, USA. He has had Visiting Professorship positions at the University of Vilnius, Lithuania; University of Innsbruck, Austria; Otago University, New Zealand; University of Aarhus, Denmark; Bled School of Management, Slovenia; Feng Chia University, Taiwan; Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal; and FGV-Sao Paulo, amongst others. Between 1987 and 1989 he was the Director of the Doctoral Programmes at the Confederation of Scottish Business Schools and at the Cardiff Business School between 1993 and 1996. Professor Moutinho has been a full Professor of Marketing since 1989 and was appointed in 1996 to the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the University of Glasgow. He currently holds Visiting Professorships at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and the University of Hull, England.

He has published twenty three books and over 120 refereed international articles in leading journals such as Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Strategic Marketing, amongst many others.

Professor Moutinho is the founding Editor of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2), and is a member of the Editorial Board of several international academic journals. He has also received a number of awards for excellence in academic research in the USA, UK and Portugal.
