Event Navigation

Dr Bettina von Stamm, an original and visionary thinker in the field of innovation since 1992, will lead these two separate Masterclasses to ensure that your organisation will not just survive but thrive in these unprecedented conditions.

The context of the 21st Century is very different from anything we have experienced before. Processes and structures that have served us well in the past are no longer working, and predicting the future seems next to impossible.  These conditions pose unprecedented challenges and uncertainties for government, businesses and individuals alike.

In her two interactive Masterclasses, Dr von Stamm will analyse what drives the specific context of the 21st Century, explain why innovation and collaboration are more essential than ever before, and enable participants to explore implications and opportunities from the perspective of their own organisation and context.

MasterClass 1            (9:30am – 11:15am)

Why innovation matters more in the 21st Century than ever before

In her first Masterclass, Dr von Stamm will introduce the key drivers behind the current context and explore their consequences. Focusing on innovation as a first prerequisite for thriving in the 21st Century, she will guide participants through implications and opportunities from the perspective of their own organisation and context.

Coffee & Networking          (11:15am– 11:45am)

MasterClass 2            (11:45am – 1:30pm)

Thriving in the 21st Century – collaboration is key

In her second Masterclass, Dr von Stamm explores the second prerequisite for not only surviving but thriving in the 21st Century: collaboration. Why is collaboration key? What challenges are associated with it?  How to overcome the challenges?  These are questions participants will be able to explore in small groups, and learn to collaborate more successfully.

Dr Bettina von Stamm: Innovation Philosopher, Story Teller, Catalyst

Dr Bettina von Stamm has been an original and visionary thinker in the field of innovation since 1992, a passion which was kindled during her MBA (1990-1992) and deepened further when she returned to London Business School for her PhD. She holds a first degree in Architecture and Town Planning.

Having worked independently since 1992, she founded the Innovation Leadership Forum in 2004 through which she offers innovation masterclasses, seminars and workshops as well as coaching and advisory services to help senior managers and innovation leaders understand and address barriers to innovation and create sustainably innovative organisations.

Tools she has developed include the Innovation Wave®, a facilitated assessment tool for innovation capability, and a methodology that facilitates the elicitation of implicit knowledge and assumptions which is critical in the highly diverse context required to make innovation happen.

Her written work includes four reports on “Innovation Leading Practice & Future Challenges” and three books: The Innovation Wave – an introduction to holistic thinking in innovation for senior managers, Managing Innovation Design & Creativity – a textbook (2nd Edition) and The Future of Innovation (with Anna Trifilova) which knits together views from over 150 innovation experts, and has an accompanying website. She is currently working on a new book: Everything you ever wanted to know about Innovation.
