John Prpic is visiting the EVOSS group this week from Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.  John has presented research previously in the areas of Crowdsourcing, Innovation and Policy. Presentation Overview

The use of IT-mediated crowds by organizations is materially changing ‘business as usual’ in many aspects modern life. Ranging from entrepreneurial finance, R&D, and the sharing economy, to health care, public administration, and scientific research, numerous sectors are being disrupted by IT-mediated crowd phenomena. In this talk, I introduce a theoretical perspective to assist our thinking about the disparate application of IT-mediated crowds. I then give an overview of the rapidly emerging domain by highlighting what the research has learned about IT-mediated crowds, while outlining important research avenues that still need to be addressed.
