Dr Jane Walsh on exercise as a secret weapon against cancer
Dr Jane Walsh, co-leader of the Health and Well-Being research cluster, will give a public talk at the Decoding Cancer series on November 24th in the Science Gallery in Dublin. She will discuss the importance of exercise and physical activity after breast cancer diagnosis and treatment for reducing the risk of reoccurrence and improving quality of life. Jane’s research interests include the use of new technologies to drive interventions to change health behaviours (mHealth) as well as influencing health behaviour change through the promotion of preventative health behaviours, and she has also been invited to address the next annual Health Summit which will take place in Croke Park next February. The conference will explore re-designing care and empowering patients and Jane has been asked to speak about the studies she is conducting on mHealth applications and the implications for the delivery of healthcare. She has also been asked to present a guest lecture at the upcoming Pfizer Pharmaceutical Annual Conference on Psychology and Performance in Healthcare Management.
