This study examines the relationship between organisational ambidexterity (OA), management control systems (MCS) and organisational performance.  Seperate research streams exist on OA and MCS and this study combines these disparate literatures in formulating hypotheses.  Telephone interviews will be carried out with CEOs in the medical devices and IT industries to explain the study and obtain background information.  This will be followed by a postal survey to CEOs and CFOs to measure the relevant variables.  Structural equation modelling will be used to analyse the role of MCS as a mediator or moderator in the relationship between OA and organisational performance.
