Dr. Lorraine Morgan was awarded €128,600 from Lero, Science Foundation Ireland for a four-year project on Inner Source & Digital Platforms. The overall aim of this project is to investigate how adopting inner source can help organisations develop open digital platforms. The specific research objectives are:

  1. To examine the extent to which Inner Source can help create digital platforms
  2. To develop and validate a framework with associated metrics to help organisations connect the capabilities of inner source with the challenges faced when developing their digital platform.
  3. To examine how organisations can offset the cost of change with near-term practical gains.
  4. To provide practical recommendations to organisations wishing to follow a strategy of inner source-driven platformisation.
